Finger typing is better than no typing at all
I was talking with a friend about journaling. He doesn’t have a computer. He doesn’t have an iPad. He uses his phone and types his poetic musings on his Notes App, one finger tapping. No double thumbs, just one finger.
At first I was befuddled. This seems totally crazy, especially with all the technology in the world today.
Then it dawned on me that my friend is a doer. He doesn’t wait for the right workspace. He doesn’t wait for the correct new gadget. He takes what’s available and uses it.
As we talk more I learn that he has invented an incredible workout routine using objects you find all around you. Well, maybe not everyone can drag half a telephone poll down the beach, but objects of resistance are everywhere. The fact that you don’t have a peloton shouldn’t stop you.
Objects of resistance are all around you. You can use them to complain or make excuses. Or you can use them to sharpen your brain, body and soul.
Single finger tapping on an iPhone is just another exercise in perseverance. My friend has continued to demonstrate to me that taking action is what allows the universe to unfold through you.
So today I finger tapped this post on my iPhone and it’s clear to me that the output is way more important than the input mechanism. If resistance is keeping you stuck, give it the finger!
Thanks friend, I’m in.
