I’ve been absent from my blog for about 3 months because I only want to write when I have something amazing to share… and when it’s easy.
That seems childish, and a bit selfish, and not how I want to live my life. Let me explain.
First, it’s childish because I’m making the decision for you, ahead of time, that you don’t want to read mundane ramblings. If I don’t write them, I save you the effort of not reading them. The truth is, if you don’t want to read them it’s up to you, not me.
Second, it’s selfish because life is more than a photo on Instagram once in a while. It’s always unfolding, filled with twists and turns. A blog is more like a letter, handwritten, and mailed across the sea, to a good friend.
Third, it hasn’t been easy. When I started this blog on Substack they made it super easy to write on my iPhone using the app. Shortly after I started, they removed that feature from the app. Being childish and selfish, I threw a tantrum and decided not to write. As with most resentments, it only hurt me. I’m sure they removed the feature for a good reason, and I can still write using their website.
So this is why I’m writing today.
To share my simple life with good friends and hope it reaches you across the vast distances… physical, virtual, social, or imagined.
6 Month Update:
6 months ago I made my 2023 predictions and today the number of apps using AI to make life better, cheaper and faster is incredible.
We added GPT to CORL8 and changed our name to Foclarity.ai which uses AI to bring focus, clarity, and alignment to executive teams.
Chat GPT has added plugins, internet access, and improved their API to make it even more powerful.
Google has had AI models for a long time, but now they are heavily advertising and positioning behind their AI.
Facebook has released their LLM to educators and open sourced it, and many other open source models are gaining popularity.
Everyone on LinkedIn is now a “Prompt Engineer” trying to get in on the frenzy.
And life goes on… my cherries are ripe and I’m eating them faster than the birds. My 9 chicks have become pullets and I’ve moved them outside so the other hens can take a look. The wisteria needs pruning, the garden is bursting to life, friends are getting married, others have died.
I’ll check in again on my predictions in December. For now, I’m getting back into the moment to enjoy this wonderful gift - the present.
And I’ll be sharing it with you more often.
Be well and send a letter back!!!
And don't forget the lingcod!
Good to see you yesterday and to read your stuff today!
